Moonwalk is an experimental immersive film about humanity’s relationship with the Moon. It is a work about human thought, spirituality, and achievement. The Moon's stories take us across history and manifold cultures, introducing great literature, science, poetry, and music. There are as many extraordinary images of fantasy and of a beautifully stark reality as there are craters on its surface.
Utilizing the immersive presence of fulldome's exceptional projection space, this pioneering experimental film characterizes our sister satellite as a living, scintillating force. The Moon emerges from the raw material of countless photos which comprise lunar atlases, shattering into pieces then rebuilding itself. It evolves from its familiar pregnant blackness to a lambent, jittering hive of voices and sounds. Moonwalk reaches beyond idealized childhood daydreams of the heavens, past familiar Apollo footage, into the tender roots of culture which weave throughout our daily personal lives.
Moonwalk was the first feature-length experimental film created for fulldome.
